Why BMEN?

BMEN was created with one goal in mind: to bring men together.

In 2018, I launched the first BMEN experience in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at a beautiful beachside resort. What started as an idea quickly became something bigger than I imagined. We sold out the resort, filled the space with great energy, and created a weekend where men could relax, connect, laugh, party, build friendships, and simply enjoy being around one another.

That first BMEN experience showed me something important. There was a real need for spaces where men, especially Black gay men and men in our community, could come together in a way that felt intentional, welcoming, fun, and meaningful.

BMEN was never created to be just another party. It was created to be an experience.

The Beginning: Fort Lauderdale 2018

The first BMEN event took place at a resort on the beach in Fort Lauderdale. The idea was simple: create a getaway where men could come together, enjoy themselves, and feel comfortable being who they are.

That weekend became special because of the people. Men came from different cities, different backgrounds, and different walks of life, but the energy was the same. Everyone wanted to connect, have fun, and be part of something that felt different.

Selling out that resort proved that BMEN had a purpose. It showed that when you create the right environment, people will show up. Not just for the music or the parties, but for the fellowship, the brotherhood, the conversations, and the memories.

Then Life Changed

After 2018, I always knew BMEN would return. I wanted to bring it back bigger, better, and more elevated. But like many things, life shifted. The pandemic changed the world, travel paused, and the original resort where BMEN started was eventually sold.

For a while, the return of BMEN was delayed, but the vision never left me.

I knew BMEN still had a place. I knew the community still needed moments like this. I knew that men still wanted to travel, connect, celebrate, and experience something curated with them in mind.

So instead of bringing BMEN back the same way, I decided to bring it back on a bigger stage.

From the Beach to the Ocean

Now, BMEN returns in August 2026 aboard Virgin Voyages.

This next chapter is more than a comeback. It is an evolution.

What started as a sold-out resort experience in Fort Lauderdale has now grown into a luxury cruise experience at sea. BMEN on Virgin 2026 gives us the opportunity to take everything that made the first experience special and expand it into something even more unforgettable.
